Object Translation

    I will be translating an object into cyberspace. Measuring and observing it so that I can recreate it using CAD software. 

The candidate objects I have selected are:

• A pair of earbuds

I chose these earbuds because I would like to understand their inner workings. Learning about how they were designed and how they work could only help me.

• A cassette and its case

I chose a cassette so that I could become more familiar with them, I have more of them at home and would like to get to know them so that I might be able to use them & transform them.

• A mini cassette recorder

This object was selected so that I might become less timid while prodding around with antiquated machines. This would by far be the most challenging to translate, but I would learn so much regarding its operation.

Honorable mentions include:

• A pair of headphones I found at the train station
• My skateboard
• A pair of snowboard bindings
• Calipers

I am likely to move forwards with the cassette for this project, because this object would have a wicked exploded view, and seemingly pose me with a worthwhile challenge.
